Borneol

Borneol is a secondary monoterpenoid alcohol

It occurs as a minor constituent in the essential oil makeup of certain cannabis chemovars.

This terpenoid has an herbal, camphoraceous aroma often described as piney, mentholic and slightly floral. Some detect subtle notes of rosemary as well. The scent is modestly intense.

In nature, borneol appears most abundantly in medicinal herbs like lavender, rosemary and sage. It is also isolated as a prime component from artemisia and pine tree leaves. Chinese pharmacopeia utilizes borneol.

Purported medicinal attributes of borneol include:
